Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Have you all heard of this book? I have seen it around on other's blogs and found it on the shelves at Barnes & Noble today. I had to get it. Pride and Prejudice. And Zombies! I am a big Jane Austen fan and I think this looks hilarious. Just reading the first line makes me want to start reading this now.
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains."

Product Description
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice) this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen's classic novel to new legions of fans.

  1. I've never been much of a Jane Austen fan, but I just picked up one of her audio books at the library. I took out Persuasion.

Just to let you know I gave you an award. Stop by and check it out.

  2. Love Austen, but I've never tried reading anything by anyone else based on her books. Not really sure why.. afraid my image of her characters might get tainted.. probably. And while this one is completely different from all the rest, I'm not a fan of zombies either, so probably not. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts though. :D
