"A Tiffany Aching Adventure"

Armed with a frying pan and the help of some little, but fierce, blue men in kilts, Tiffany Aching is on a mission to find her brother and return him home.

She will have to battle monsters, enter another world and attempt to steal her brother back from the faerie queen. As a witch, she has some advantages, but she has just discovered she is one, so it's all a bit new to her. 

Fun book. Love the Nac Mac Feele's. Their speech takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get it- so much more enjoyable. 

This was a really great book to get to reread for book group. Again, I had to miss the meeting, but really hope the others enjoyed it just as much. I have read all the Tiffany Aching books, and now feel the need to read all the other books in the DiscWorld series. Now to figure out where to start.

Wintersmith: A Discworld Novel by Terry Pratchett

Another fun book in the Tiffany Aching series. She is getting older, thirteen now, so along with learning to be a witch she also has to deal with boys. And one of these "boys" just happens to be Winter. The little blue guys are back, too. So lot's of hilarity to enjoy.

I am a recent convert to Terry Pratchett's books. I have read a couple of his YA books that are part of his Discworld Series and have loved them. I can't wait to get my hands on his new book, Nation, which will be released on September 30th.

i have a question...about a book

I went to a local bookstore today after grabbing lunch with the hubby. There was a display of books on sale and in the piles of books I found this one, Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett. Hardcover for $7.99. That is hard to pass up, no? I haven't read any of his books but have always heard good things. This just happens to be one of his young adult books and also the third book with this main character. I just realized this while adding it to my list of books-to-read on GoodReads. So, my question, for the Terry Pratchett readers out there who have read these books, should read the other two before reading this one? Can it be read as a stand alone book? Thanks!

So far the weekend is shaping up to be better than last week's. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a nice relaxing weekend of coffee shops, books, and knitting. :)
