Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
It has been a long time since I have read a book that kept me up late at night unable to put it down. I loved this book and enjoyed every bit of it. 
It is the story of Richard Mayhew, who despite the protests of his girlfriend, helps a young injured girl off the streets of London. In doing so, he loses his girlfriend, the life he knew and finds himself where he never would have imagined, London Below. 
Such a fun book full of adventures, creepy characters and scary monsters. Perfect book for the month of October.

Book Review- The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

When I started reading the book I was a bit worried that it wasn't going to live up to the hype. It was hard for me to get into despite truly loving the idea of it. I explained the story of Bod to my husband. That he was a boy being raised by spirits in a graveyard. He agreed that it was such an original and interesting idea, so why was I having so much trouble with it?

Each chapter reads like a short story. Small snippets of Bod's life in the graveyard. An adventure here, another there five years later. There is very little information about what happened to his family and why. It was the second half of the book when I started to realize that I was really enjoying it. When Bod grows up and begins to search for answers. The last chapters are definitely the best.

This very imaginative, dark and sometimes creepy book will be reread very soon. I feel like I dragged myself through the first half without realizing what I was reading. I have to go back and see what I missed.

Coraline-Book Review

I really enjoyed this book. I read it in 2 hours. I had never read Gaiman before. I picked this one up when I couldn't find Stardust at the library. I am so glad I did.

Coraline finds a door to nowhere in her new flat which actually turns out to be a way into another, scarier version of her own house. The book reminded me a lot of Pan's Labyrinth in its fantastical style, it's surreal and terrifying characters.

A wonderful, disturbing book that will probably give me nightmares. Black buttons will feature prominently.
