visit to the vet

Joey went to the vet on Friday. She wasn't happy about it. We hadn't taken her in a while (I am not proud of that) and she got a bit freaked out. She has to have a Benadryl shot before she gets her vaccinations because of a previous allergic reaction. I think the combination made her a bit screwy later that night. That and the gunk they put in her ears to clear up an infection. She started mewing loudly and trying to hide under our bed. We had just gotten back from celebrating the hubby's birthday so our slightly inebriated selves got a bit freaked ourselves. The hubby calmed her down, I wanted to take her to the 24 hour clinic, but she finally relaxed and fell asleep between us.

After a couple days she was back to her usual menace-y self.

She does have to go back to the vet next week, unfortunately. The vet heard a heart murmur and they are going to do an ultrasound to make sure she is okay. She is going to be a bit odd again after that visit.

  1. Awww poor lil girl :) My mom's kitten has a heart murmur too. I'm sure she'll be just fine!
Kitty ALWAYS sleeps between me and my boyfriend

  2. oh no! I hope the ultrasound goes well. At least you'll be prepared for a bit odd this time.

  3. I'm sorry Joey is feeling poorly. My little Paisley is at the vet today getting her hair done and a spot also.
    Get well soon Joey!

  4. Poor Joey. I hope the ultrasound goes well!

  5. Awww...bless her little heart. I hope everything works out okay.

  6. Awwww, poor kitty! I hope she's OK. Let us know.

I think vet visits with the cat are one of the prime reasons I had for learning how to give shots. I vaccinate at home and the cats only go to the vets when I have noooooo other choice. (They get dewormed regularly). Cats aren't like dogs you know, they don't get used to going to the vets. They hate it no matter how often you go (or don't).

  7. I will let you all know how it goes next week. Sh is oblivious to the fact that she has to go back. Poor thing. :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment! :)
