Whiskers on Wednesday- 4/15/09

It has been awhile since my last Whiskers on Wednesday post. I just haven't been taking many pictures lately. This week I thought I would share an old photo. One of my favorites is this one. She just looks so regal and poised. I will try and be better at posting the Joey pics. :)

As for my knitting, well, I need some motivation on that too.  That is my plan for tonight. Continue work on my socks. :)

Happy Wednesday!

Whiskers on Wednesday- 2/25/08

I came home today as usual. Came in through the garage door, arms filled with school bag, purse and lunch bag. As I walked to the desk to put my stuff down a certain kitty felt it was an appropriate time to attack. She ran out from under the desk and dashed right under my foot that was coming down mid step. She is lucky I didn't step on her but I did manage to drop everything in my attempt to stay vertical. There may have been a few expletives yelled at the cat. She ran quickly away and hid on the other side of the couch. Of course, she was then nipping at my ankles as I walked by on my way to the bathroom. She should be banished from her perch atop my comforter folded on the bed. She looks too cute, though. I wouldn't want to disturb her. :)

Whiskers on Wednesday (1/28/09)

It has been so long since I posted about Joey for Whiskers on Wednesday. Joey needs a little face time on here. :)
She is lounging right now after some tiresome running around the house after one of my hair bands. What a goofy kitty.

Very, very late WOW

How cool is this picture?

I was skimming through my Google Reader posts (all 123 of them) and stopped at a post by Melissa Walker (author of the Violet on the Runway YA series that I reviewed not too long ago). The Poloroid like pictures caught my eye. Her new site I Heart Daily has a feature on how to make them. Go check it out!

I know, I know. I have been terrible at posting on here lately. So, here is a little Joey (late, yes. Right now she is adjusting to being in CA and a different house. We are trying to keep her from attacking the Christmas tree as well. Not easy.

Whiskers on Wednesday (11/12/08)

flippy kitty

Joey has been so much more active lately. We call this being flippy-flippy. She used to greet us at the door when we got home and make her flippy-flips. She hadn't been doing it for a long time. We would come home and find her asleep on the bed instead. The last few days she has been back to her old self. I wonder of the meds are helping?

Whiskers on Wednesday Halloween Edition

I fear I have not taken a new Joey picture this Halloween so I am recycling last years. She looks so cute doing what she loves best, sitting on the windowsill, staring out at the birds in the trees. The pumpkin is in her way. She usually pushes it out of her way but this day, she sat with her paws curled under her and trying desperately to ignore the orange thing. After taking the picture, after walking away and making myself busy elsewhere, I heard the pumpkin fall to the ground and roll. Joey was back in her spot looking very innocent.

visit to the vet

Joey went to the vet on Friday. She wasn't happy about it. We hadn't taken her in a while (I am not proud of that) and she got a bit freaked out. She has to have a Benadryl shot before she gets her vaccinations because of a previous allergic reaction. I think the combination made her a bit screwy later that night. That and the gunk they put in her ears to clear up an infection. She started mewing loudly and trying to hide under our bed. We had just gotten back from celebrating the hubby's birthday so our slightly inebriated selves got a bit freaked ourselves. The hubby calmed her down, I wanted to take her to the 24 hour clinic, but she finally relaxed and fell asleep between us.

napping kitty

After a couple days she was back to her usual menace-y self.

She does have to go back to the vet next week, unfortunately. The vet heard a heart murmur and they are going to do an ultrasound to make sure she is okay. She is going to be a bit odd again after that visit.

a kitty pic and a wip

It is Wednesday again and you know what that means... Joey day! Or more accurately, Whiskers on Wednesday. Joey just likes to think it is her day. :)

you talking to me?
This is the look I got when I told her she was the Spotlighted kitty today.

Yup, she was surprised. Speechless, actually. Just a lot of meows and thank you's.

Since I can't let Joey get a big head over her new found celebrity, I should add other content to this post besides her.

So, I bring you another wip pic of Hey, Teach!

parts

All the parts waiting to be attached. I actually got that sleeve and side all seamed up last night. No pics until all finished.

sleep deprivation

Actual knitting content!

Can you believe it?

Well, a little any way.

one unfinished sockblanket square #1

I still have only one unfinished sock, but I now have a finished blanket square! I have a bit more to go. :)

It's good to be home. I only wish I didn't have to be getting up early and going to work. I am feeling a bit sleep deprived. Olympics doesn't help with that, or reading Breaking Dawn.

For those of you who may have worried, Joey let us in the house when we got home. In fact, she was very happy to have us home.

Now she won't get off of us. I think she is afraid we might leave again.

whiskers on wednesday

Poor little kitty is home all alone right now.

Her evil mommy and daddy have gone off to enjoy the cooler weather in CA and left her by herself.

Bad, bad mommy and daddy.

We left her food and water and many of her favorite little balls to play with. We left our bed made and accessible for her sleeping needs. We have her favorite friend visiting her while we are away.

So how is she doing?

Here is the message I got yesterday from said friend:

Jojo has decided she likes me better. You are no longer welcome in her home. :)

I'm innocent

whiskers on wednesday

This is a very informative book if you own a cat. It taught me a lot. It taught me that my cat's just not that into me.

How do I know?

Well here are some of the chapter titles...

She pretends you don't exist check
She physically abuses you check
She shows no respect for you or your possessions check

That's three out of ten! She is definitely not into me. Good thing, this book gives you ideas on how to fix that.

For example,

"Cats adore the owner who can't keep his hands off his cat. It makes kitty feel loved, wanted, needed, sexy, serene, and best of all, in control of her owner."

Great info, I tell you. :)

I am taking knitting with me, three of my 4 wips. Hopefully there will be progress made and FO's to share.

Tomorrow is Whiskers on Wednesday and I didn't want to miss so I give you Joey and her artwork.

This is the mess I woke up to the other day. It's not where I found it, but I thought it belonged with who did it. Look at the guilty face.

This is what she does when she wants food or attention.

Nice.

sprint finish (stage 5)

So far today, we have done nothing but sit in front of the television watching the Tour de France. Yes, Joey, too.

She loves watching the bikes zoom across the screen. She especially loves the boys in light blue. Columbia showed themselves to be a very strong team today. Hincapie was amazing coming from back in the cars all the way to the front to help with the lead out for Cavendish. Team Columbia gets their first Stage win. Woot.

All that sprinting really wore out the kitty. It was the last 5k that did it. She needed a rest.

I think I may join her for a little cat nap.

whiskers on wednesday

Being out of town for so long this is my first post for Whiskers on Wednesday. Unfortunately, my camera battery is dead and charging. I tried to get a cute picture of Joey before it died as she was cuddled up amongst my shoes but she refused to cooperate and got up and kept coming up to my hand for a rub.

So, I have found a picture on the comp from awhile back that I thought I would share. Cute kitty once again being a reluctant subject. :)

I have had Joey since we moved to Texas. She was our first acquisition after the apartment. We are going on 8 years here and we got her when she was 6 mos. She is a feisty little thing. Very needy for attention. If we are not out of the bedroom early enough in the morning anything left on the tables will be on the ground. She also chews up magazines. Yup, she is weird. She thinks she is a dog. She plays fetch, too. Best kitty ever!

More pics and kitty tidbits to come next week. :)
