Sunday Salon (02/22/09)

The Sunday Salon.com

February has turned out to be a slow reading month. There have been days when I haven't read at all! There is just so much going on this month, lots of changes occurring that are causing stress and a need to veg in front of the TV. I need a book that will just take me away from it all. I really need to get lost in a good book. One that will make me forget about everything else.

Any suggestions?

  1. Have you read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak? Or The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield? Fool Moon by Jim Butcher
The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennet.
Geography of Love - Glenda Burgess

Hope those help! Have a great week!

  2. Thanks. I have The Book Thief on the way.
I have read the next two. Love The Dresden Files books. I do need the next one but am waiting until it is in paperback. The other two I have not read. I will have to look them up. Thanks.

  4. Or how about a book without words? By Shaun Tan or David Wiesner? Or a trip to a museum?
    Have a good week.

  6. Have you read J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series? I didn't see anything there in your 2008 list -- STRONGLY recommend them for "take me away!" type books.

Since you're into YA and Kelley Armstrong, a friend of mine who has similar tastes really loves Robin McKinley's YA books.
