Current Playlist: The Killers

I have been listening to The Killers non stop since seeing them in concert in Vegas. Runaways is on constant repeat in my head.

I had seen them before and have enjoyed their music since their first album came out. I had stopped listening though more in a response to both my sisters becoming completely obsessed with them and Brandon Flowers.  Ha.

Anyway, here are some of my favorites of The Killers. Enjoy!

Happy Dancing! (Just try not to)

Current Playlist: WorkOut Mix

I realized while running the other day that I lose track on my audiobook. I was paying more attention to where I was going and making sure I didn't trip over anything, than to the story. So, I put together an hourlong workout mix for my running days.

There are some expletives in some of these, so don't blare with the kids around. :)

Forgot to link this up to #readersworkout! Be sure to check out the weekly even over at Joy's Book Blog.

Happy Running!

Current Music: Phoenix

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
Have you all listened to them yet? I have recently discovered Phoenix and am loving this album. I heard 1901 on the radio and quickly purchased the album. It has been playing continuously on my iPod.

So, supposedly the baby can hear now as her ears are formed. The hubby thinks I should be playing some classical music. Well, this album is called Woflgang Amadeus. That counts, right? :)

Oh yeah, we are having a girl!

Music filled 2009

I love Depeche Mode! They are my absolute favorite band ever. I have seen them in concert four times and will be seeing them for the fifth time in August. I have tickets for their SF concert in Mountain View. I cannot wait. Their new album releases in April.

To make my waiting easier we have gotten tickets for the Nine Inch Nails concert here in Austin in May. Jane's Addiction will be opening for them. Woot!

And one more cool possible concert. I just read on Muse's website that they will be touring with U2 for some of their US concert dates this fall. How awesome would that be!? My fingers are crossed that one of those dates will be in Texas. Somewhere that I can get to. I suppose San Francisco would be okay.

Okay, I am done being a fangirl...for now. :) I leave you with DM's new single. Video is a bit strange. This is the first time I have seen it. Weird.

And one of my all time favorite songs! Enjoy.

Booking Through Thursday, cont.

I wanted to post the lyrics to my favorite Joshua Radin song. Also, I have added the song to my playlist which is on the right a few scrolls down. Have a listen and enjoy. It is a great song. :)

"Sundrenched World"

I can't get to bed
But I'm really tired
The things in my head
You used to admire
In your sundrenched world
It couldn't be worse
Don't bother asking
And here comes the nerves
While I'm trying to bask
In your sundrenched world

I'm talking to you
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My heart is blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I'm not wrong

I close up my mouth
When you're around now
Suffocating in doubt
I can't make a sound
In your sundrenched world
I always wanted to be
The one you looked to
For the answers in me
I'm the one who took you
To your sundrenched world

I'm talking to you
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My heart is blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I belong

It's all been said
Once before
We fucked around
On your bedroom floor

I'm talking to you
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My hands are blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I belong

Tell me I belong
Tell me I
Tell me I belong

playlist

A couple new songs have been added to my Playlist music player.

Sweet Dreams by Marilyn Manson- seems right for this time of the year and all the creepy books I am reading. One month away from Halloween! My favorite time of the year. :)

I Love How You Love Me by Beth Orton. There were a couple songs by her listed on Melissa Marr's playlist for her book, Wicked Lovely, which I just finished. I really like this one, though, and I couldn't find the two she listed to put on my player. I think I need to go and purchase some of her music off of iTunes.

Enjoy!

Some of my post titles lately have been song titles. They worked perfectly and I have been a little lost for good titles. You know how it is...It has been a year. :)

Anyway, I was thinking that some of you may not know some of the songs. So, I went ahead and added them to my playlist in the sidebar.

New songs:

Sad Sad City, Ghostland Observatory
Island in the Sun, Weezer
Take it From Me, The Weepies
Monday, Monday, Mamas & Papas
Video Killed the Radio Star, The Buggles

Check them out!

am I crazy?

I think I have gone a bit mental. I went to Michael's the other day and bought 9 balls of Patons Merino in green, aran, and burgandy to make a Mason Dixon Log Cabin Moderne afghan for my mother in law. For Christmas. I really hope I get this done in time. Remember, I am also working on a pair of socks and the clapotis. There are also a couple projects in hibernation, too. Either waiting to be felted or seamed. OMG. I am crazy.

I am on the third rectangle, which is not saying much, because it is only about the size of a hand towel.

(Btw, I have updated my playlist. Some more Muse and The Bravery!)

happy birthday, sweetie!

It's the hubby's birthday today. We are going to dinner with friends. Sushi. Yummy.

For his gift, he got a lovely handmade Cristmas stocking, only slightly unfinished. :) And somewhere, in the mail is a cd of Punch the Clown, a ska band from our college town that we loved. The band broke up, around the time we were leaving Davis and we never did buy one of their cds while there. I was amazed to find them on Amazon! Anyway, I know he will be surprised.

Picture of the stocking to come...when it is finished. Hehe.

invincible

I had to share my love of this song with you all. Love, love, love them. This song is just amazing.

I haven't quite made it to that stocking, yet. :)

vampires and muse

This weekend has been less about knitting than even last week. Like the title, it has been all about vampires ( one especially. love.) and muse (love).

A friend gave me her three books of the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. They were so good that I finished them all in the past week. I am completely in love with the characters in these books. OMG, if you have not read them. Read them. I know they are young adult fiction, but I had no problem getting sucked into the story at all. If you love vampire and werewolf stories, and romance and suspense, you will love this book. I can not wait until the next book. I think next fall. Ugh.

Also, this weekend, my hubby got home from his weeklong business trip. It has been nice spending some time with him this weekend, too.

So, basically, no knitting being done. Listening to a lot of Muse, though. Over and over, actually. Am off to the music store soon to see if I can find any of their older cd's on the used cd's rack. If not, I will be purchasing a lot of music off iTunes tonight.

Hubby's taking a nap, maybe I will work on his stocking a bit before he gets up.

pics from the fest

ACL is all over with. Well, not quite. Bob Dillon is playing right now. We had to leave early to get the hubby to the airport on time. Oh well. We had a really great time. There were tons of people, it was really hot, but we did get to see a lot of good shows. Friday night was Queen's of the Stone Age and The Killers.

Saturday, we got there a little bit earlier and were able to catch Blue October. You can see the lead singer a bit in the big screen here. After them we saw a bit of the Arctic Monkeys and then moved over to another stage to get a good spot for Muse. Before they started we saw the end of Damien Rice's set. Muse was awesome! They put on a really great show.

Today was kind of a bust. We got a late start when our cab was a bit late. We saw only the last couple songs of Ben Kweller and then waited for Bloc Party to start. We ended up leaving their show early. I love Bloc Party on cd but they just weren't as good live. Kind of disappointing. I did get this really cool shot, though, of the stage reflected in hubby's sunglasses. Pretty cool, methinks. :)

All in all, a really great weekend. Can't wait for next year.
