Pin It and Do It : Crocheted Flowers

The little girl is going as a bee to a friend's Halloween party and I have been told that I need to be her flower. :)

Well, I thought, why not be a whole garden of flowers? I looked for a pattern, on Pinterest, for an easy crocheted flower that I could make many of and then chain them to make a garland to drape over my green dress.

This flower worked perfectly. Here is the Pin.
You can find the pattern at AnneMarie's Haakblog.

Thanks, Trish for the Challenge! That makes two pins completed! Yay!

Pin It and Do It: Halloween Craft

One item I had pinned earlier this month, was this fun art activity to do with a classroom of 2-4 year olds. It was actually one of three activities, so its simplicity was perfect.

I was looking for something with less prep and with items I already had at home. My teacher supplies came in handy. I have a huge box of cookie cutters I used for play dough and there I found the perfect pumpkin cutters in there. All I had to buy was the paper and the paint.
The kids seemed to have a good time with the activity and there were some really great results. No paper was the same. The kids did a great job.
Here is the original pin:

It can be found at:

Thanks,Trish, for the challenge.

Pin It and Do It Challenge: October

It's that time of the year when I start feeling crafty. Must be Halloween. So many cute Halloween crafts on Pinterest. Thankfully, Trish is having her Pin It and Do It challenge again this month and I will be participating. Yay!

I am going to be a Timid pinner this month, 1-3 pins are about my speed. Perhaps I will do more, but seems safer to aim low.

Happy Reading!

Pin It and Do It: Activity Wallet

Here is another idea to keep the little ones entertained while out and about. The little girl has always enjoyed going through my wallet but I am always scared to let her when we are out in case she drops a credit card or gets into my change and swallows a coin.

This wallet is just for her. The coin purse is filled with scrapbook embellishments that are made from card stock. Flowers, animals, etc. Fun little pictures to sort. Instead of credit cards, I put some old UNO cards, some pretty scrapbook papers and stickers into the slots. I added a pen and we are now set for our next outing.

Wish I'd had it yesterday when we were at the realtors!

Here is my Pin. It was originally posted by Grace of The Acts of Grace.

Thanks for the Challenge, Trish! Can't wait for the next Pin It and Do It Challenge! :) That make three Pins completed! Here are the links to my other two:

Pin It and Do It!: Trudy's Mexican Martini

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

In honor of the day, I felt the need for the drink we always celebrated with in Austin. Happy Hour's and Cinco de Mayo's were always spent at Trudy's drinking a Mexican Martini. I have been missing those nights since moving back to California.
Mexmart
The hubby and I decided to make our own and luckily found a recipe on Food.com that comes pretty darn close to the original. I made sure to Pin It  so I could find it easily the next time I feel like having one.

If you haven't had one of these before- you are missing out. Go make one now! :) Be sure to add some pimento stuffed olives and some salt on the rim!
Enjoy!

Pin It and Do It: Crayon Storage

For my first, I went with easy but quite useful. The little girl loves using crayons and they are very good at keeping her entertained at restaurants but not all of them have paper and crayons for the kids to use. I saw this great idea on a friend's board awhile back and just remembered it when it I found an old Huggies wipes container at the bottom of the diaper bag. ( I won't mentions what else I found at the bottom of the bag… it was in desperate need of cleaning.)

Anyway, I grabbed my 64 box of Crayola's and put some in the wipes box and handed them over to E. She is still using them and carrying them around the house under her arm. So cute. I plan on cutting some paper to put in there as well and maybe some stickers. Lots of stuff to keep her occupied when we are out.
New storage for crayons! Love it. Found idea in Pinterest.
Here's my pin.
I would love to give credit to the person who originally shared this but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. This was a repin without a link or credit. Any ideas on how to credit appropriately? Thanks

Pin It and Do It Challenge

Trish has a great challenge starting in May. I am guessing I am not the only on who joined Pinterest but not put it to use. I have a few pins but that is about it, so this is perfect for me to really use it.

You can find my board here
For this challenge I am going to attempt the Timid Pinner Level, 1-3 pins.  And maybe, if I enjoy it and really get into attempting the things I pin, I will do more!

Anyone else want to join in? Just click on the button and enter the challenge!
