I have been unable to control myself. I see sock yarn. I buy it. This week, two. Yes, two lovely packages came in the mail bearing some sock yarn. One was from Alyson's de-stashing and the other came from Sunshine Yarns. Both, lovely yarns, more expensive than any sock yarn I have ever bought. The minute I held it, and felt it, I knew that it would not be my last time spending that much on one skein of yarn.
Anyway, want to see?
Want to see what I spent my money on?
First:
Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock Lightweight, Flower Power
and
Sunshine Yarns Merino Sock, Luna
Yes, Luna, as in Luna Lovegood. I am a sucker for anything Harry Potter. You name your handspun after an HP character and I will buy. :)
Just so you know.
*makes mental note that if i ever get to spin & dye to name yarn after Harry Potter for guaranteed sale*

They're beautiful. Hoping to do some splurging myself soon.
I haven't bought any Socks that Rock yet, but they look so soft and wonderful. "Flower Power"--what a great name.
ReplyDeleteOooo yummy new yarn! I've been having trouble controlling myself too lately...
ReplyDeleteThose colors look fantastic, I especially like the Sunshine.
We understand. Really, we do. I'm fighting the urge to go to the LYS again. hope you enjoy knitting your yarn!
ReplyDeleteOh, have you seen the Harry Potter stitch markers?
I understand. I can very rarely treat myself to beautiful yarns like that, but when I do, it's always sock yarn (because I can justify $25 for one skein vs. spending $100 for a sweater or something) and I tell you what. Those socks are hands down THAT much more gorgeous and comfy and LOVE than my normal sock yarn socks. I've been wanting to try STR for a really long time (I'd love to join their club!). Enjoy!
