The Sunday Salon

Mommy News

Ahh, sleep. I had forgotten what it felt like to get more than 2 hrs of sleep at one time. It is heaven. The little girl is sleeping through the night finally. Yay! And she is taking 2-3 naps during the day which gives me time to blog, knit and read. Yeah, I should probably clean the house, too. I will get to that.

Not going to lie, letting the little girl cry and not going to her was the hardest thing to do but, omg, she is so much happier when she is awake now that she is getting the sleep she needs. We went cold turkey on everything with her-no more bassinet, no swaddle, in her own room/crib. Glad it all worked out. Just look at this happy little face.
She has a  lovey that made it go a little easier for her. She snuggles with it, sucks on it, pushes it away when she gets mad then grabs it back when she's ready to sleep. It is very cute to watch. Yup, watch. Having a video monitor makes this sleeping apart a whole lot better. I do spend a lot of time while she is asleep watching her, though. :)

  1. Oh my! She is gorgeous! Especially with the hat on. I am glad to read she is sleeping through now.

  2. Hi Mari,

She is adorable and a great job done by you on the hat.

I follow your twitter messages, about the sleepless nights and I am so glad that it is beginning to get better for you now. That old adage about being 'cruel to be kind', is definitely right, especially if the little one is happier too!

How are you enjoying 'The Tapestry Of Love'? I was sent this one for review, by the author and it had me enthralled from beginning to end.

  3. she is too adorable!

Did you make her little hat?? Or is that the blanket you're working on?? ;)

  4. That is the cutest hat ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Oh, my gosh! Your little one is so adorable! I love the hat, too! I keep telling myself that I'll finally start posting some of my knitting, but it's hard enough just posting the books! :)

  6. The purple hat looks adorable on her:) How Sweet.

  7. Gorgeous baby! I do remember how hard it was to let them cry so they could start falling asleep! Very tricky, but worth it.

I'll be back later for Mailbox.

    Loved Tapestry of Love.

  8. She is so darling. What a sweet little love.

  9. What a cutie!!! Talk about steal hearts with that adorable little face. :) Thanks for sharing pictures with us.

  10. She is adorable! I had a terrible time letting my babies cry it out also. Most times I would be in the next room crying as well. It does work out though.

  11. She's such a cutie! I'm glad to hear you're both getting more sleep.

  12. What a cutie!! So glad to hear the sleeping situation is better. We went through something similar with our first son and it was hard. We just did the best we could and with each child we learned a little more. Before we knew it we had three teens who slept every chance they got!

    Enjoy and sweet dreams!! :)
