Armchair BEA Introduction

Hi! I'm Mari and this is my first time participating in Armchair BEA. I don't think I will ever make it to BEA, so this is great. Living vicariously.

For these first couple days I will be checking in from the bed in our hotel room. We are in San Diego with the hubby. While he works, Emma and I are tooling around the hotel and wandering around nearby Seaport Village. Not today, though. It is raining. Blegh.

So, some info about me...

-My name is pronounced like Maudie, kind of). If you can roll your r's you can say it correctly. :)
-I was a pre-kindergarten teacher for 9 years.
-I lived in Texas for 10 years.
-I am a first time mom to an 8 month old little girl.
-I started my blog as a place to keep track of the books I was reading a few years ago when I was trying to read 100 books in a year.
-I love to knit. Started out blogging about knitting but quickly got sucked into book blogging. You can find my old knitting posts from mariknits here.

When we get home I will be "Armchairing" it from my comfy chair-and-a-half, where I can just see the treetops of Golden Gate Park a couple blocks away.

  1. Visiting for Mailbox Monday, but saw your Armchair BEA post and had to say hi! Hope you're having fun in San Diego. Have a safe trip when you head home. I used to know how to knit, but forgot. Probably wouldn't be too hard to pick it up again. Well, have a great week and stop by if you get a chance!

  2. So nice to meet you. Congrats on your little girl. I've been trying to learn how to crochet, but it is taking me a while. I'm excited to read more of your blog. Thanks!
