losing my knitting mojo?

For some reason, I just can't spend more than an hour here and there on my knitting.

Am I losing my knitting mojo?

I really hope not. I blame it on going back to work, and lack of interest in my current WIP's. The first week of school has come and gone. I can't complain too much. It went well. Seems like we have a nice group of kids this year. I am, however, already sick with my first cold of the school year. Don't know how that happened. Sucks.

Anyway, for those of you who aren't visiting the Reading Blog I thought I would share my August reads with you. Still really behind in reaching 100 for the year, but really, does it matter if I do?

Anyway, here they are. Some have links to my reviews if you are at all interested.

*Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert(aug)
Pretties by Curtis Westerfeld (aug)
*The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong (aug)
The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart (aug)
*Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer (aug)
* Holes by Louis Sachar (aug)
Uglies by Curtis Westerfeld (aug)
Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar (aug)
*The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield (aug)

I promise some knitting content to come. I have another square finished for the RMBR blanket and maybe some progress on the little wee sock will be done soon.

  1. I got Eat Love Pray on audio book. A most excellent listen. I was really moved. I'm with you on the mojo. I'm thinking once the new routine is established it will creep back in.

  2. You're not alone. I've got a stinking cold too! It isn't even autumn yet! Now that you mention it...I also have done much knitting wise either. Maybe my mojo ran off with yours...hope they're having fun but get bored soon and come back home. :P
    Hugs!

  3. I recommend frogging the projects that have lost their mojo, or just putting them aside, and starting something new and exciting. (And probably small.)

  4. I have found that on the rare occasions I've "lost" my knitting mojo it was due to life situations and lack of interest in current wips - same as you! Try finding something new to cast on that you'll really find to be a treat. :D

  5. We have enough things that we are obligated to do. My knitting is a pleasure and I do not allow myself to feel guilty about the lapses. Do something else that gives you pleasure. Your knitting will always be there. When you come back to it with a fresh mind and it still does not inspire you, frog it.

    Take care, Joanne

  7. It's the heat. I wouldn't want to knit in those temps after work when I'm tired either.

Your reccy of the Thirteenth Tale sounds interesting. I'll have to see if I can get it in audiobook format.

I'm doing pretty good with the 100 books goal, even though I never officially joined anything. Ever since I discovered audiobooks, my book consupmtion has gone up dramatically. That and reading at work when it's slow. I think i've finished 71 now. Good luck!
