Make Ahead Meals Party

I joined a group of moms (and a dad) this Sunday to make 6 freezable meals for each of our 8 families. It was quite a production but so much fun and I came home with 6 meals! You can't beat that.

One of the moms was a part of a group in Seattle and brought their ideas, organization and some recipes to us. Prior to the cooking party, one person selects the recipes, one makes the shopping list, one makes labels, some go to costco and another goes to the grocery store to get what couldn't be bought at Costco and one hosts. It is a great division of labor before and during.

The host provides the kitchen and dinner and everyone divvies up the recipes and gets to work chopping, mixing and measuring.

Some recipes just required making marinades and putting in meats so they are ready for cooking at a later date. Others needed some cooking before freezing.

 4 hours, 8 cooks, 6 recipes, 48 meals.

Can't wait to try them all!

Oh, and I bet you are wondering about the cost. $67.00 ! What a bargain.

Recipes:

Farmer's Casserole
Hawaiian Ribs
White bean and pork stew
Beef Bulgogi
Polenta and sausage stuffed peppers
Teriyaki Baked Salmon
